Women's Tennis Finishes 2021 Season Ranked In National & Regional Polls

After one of the most successful seasons in school history, the 2021 San José State women's tennis team finished the season ranked in the national and regional Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Team Rankings.

The Spartans finished the year ranked 63rd in the national poll, tying the 2013 team for the best ranking in school history. In the Northwest regional rankings, the Spartans ranked sixth and were the highest non-Power Five school in the region.

"This has been an amazing and exciting year to be a part of the San José State women's tennis program," said Spartan head coach Chad Skorupka. "I am happy for the team and all the hard work they put in this season as well as everyone who made it possible to play this year.

"We are looking forward to a challenging schedule next year and adding two new players to the Spartan team.  I am excited to get the team back this fall to start a new journey."

San José State finished the season with a 15-2 record, Mountain West championship, 8-1 conference record and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Irena Muradyan was named the Co-Mountain West Freshman of the Year, while Skorupka was honored as the MW Coach of the Year. Muradyan and Alba Pedrero Galindo were named All-MW in singles, while the doubles team of Savannah Sendar and Lara Marco Mas were All-MW honorees.
