Men's Basketball Adds Ohio State Transfer Ibrahima Diallo

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Another day, another power five transfer. San Jose State men's basketball has made another big addition to their 2021 roster as Ohio State transfer Ibrahima Diallo officially signed with the Spartans. Diallo's addition gives SJSU their fifth transfer from a power five program this offseason. Head coach Tim Miles made the announcement on Friday.

"We are excited to add Ibrahima," Miles said. "He's been a part of two terrific programs at Prolific Prep and Ohio State, and comes to the Spartans with great potential as well as steadfast fundamentals to build on. He has excellent measurables such as 7-feet tall and a 7-6 wingspan. He'll get the chance to develop his skill set and make an impact on both ends of the floor for SJSU."

Diallo, originally from Saly, Senegal, joins the Spartans after two seasons at Ohio State. As a Buckeye, he appeared in 13 total games with 11 career points and 19 rebounds. As a freshman, the 7-foot-0 center appeared in eight games off the bench where he averaged 1.3 points and 1.9 rebounds. His best game of the year was a six-point, five-rebound outing in nonconference play against Stetson (11/18). In 2020-21, a knee injury forced him to miss significant time, but he was still able to play sparingly in five games.

Prior to signing with Ohio State, Diallo played for Prolific Prep in Napa Valley. Playing in 10 games as a senior, he averaged a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds while recording just shy of four blocks per game. He signed with the Buckeyes over offers from Florida State, DePaul, Pittsburgh and South Florida.

Diallo joins the Spartans with three years of eligibility remaining.
