USA Today Names Hall To Preseason All-America Team

McLean, Va.----- For San Jose State University defensive lineman Cade Hall, "seconds" is the number when it comes to his football abilities and USA Today.

Named a USA Today second-team All-America defensive lineman in 2020 after helping San Jose State University to a Mountain West championship and a 7-1 overall win-loss record, Hall heads to the current season as a USA Today preseason second-team All-America selection.

Hall is the first San Jose State football player to receive USA Today preseason All-America honors and is his latest recognition for a 2020 season in which he was credited with 10.0 quarterback sacks and 12.0 tackles for loss in the seven games he played.

He is the only player from one of the seven NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) California-based programs and the only one from a Mountain West school listed as a preseason All-America.

The 2020 Mountain West Defensive Player of the year was tabbed as the conference's preseason Defensive Player of the Year and named to the Walter Camp Player of the Year, Bednarik Award, and Nagurski Trophy watch lists and preseason All-America teams  listed in Athlon and Phil Steele's College Football Yearbook.

San Jose State opens the 2021 season hosting Southern Utah, Saturday, August 28, in a 7:00 p.m. (PT) game in CEFCU Stadium.
