INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The San José State men’s golf team returns to NCAA postseason action as the Spartans were selected as one of 14 teams to play at the Austin Regional, May 13-15, at The University of Texas Golf Club.
- The Spartans last played at regionals as a team in 2019, ironically on the exact same course and dates that year.
- San José State is ranked 60th in the last national rankings.
- SJSU is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Mountain West Championship, the best finish for the program since joining the conference in 2013-14.
- The Spartans have four top-five finishes this season including third place at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational and the Pan-Pacific Collegiate Championship.
- Caleb Shelter, Xuan Luo and Zubair Firdaus each tied for 13th at the MW Championship.
- The Spartans are one of six Mountain West schools to receive an invite to the NCAA Regionals.
- The top-five teams and low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, May 24-29, at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
