Spartans Falter in Final Frame at Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. – 
Meghan Oberg led San José State (3-12, 0-4 Mountain West) in an 87-74 loss to Fresno State (7-8, 3-1 Mountain West) inside the Save Mart Center on Saturday afternoon. Oberg scored a career-high 19 points and added four rebounds.
 
The contest came down to the final 10 minutes, with the score 55-51 Spartans trailing heading into the fourth quarter. A few quick buckets from the Bulldogs early in the final frame was the deciding factor.  

  •  Ella Ogier scored 19 points, dished out four assists and grabbed two rebounds
  •  Cydni Lewis led SJSU at the glass with nine boards and nine points
  •  Deja Ross added nine points and six rebounds
  • Meghan Oberg was 6-7 with 15 points in the first half
  • The Spartans shot 45 percent from 3-point and 48 FG percent in the first half
  • SJSU had three blocks, two from Oberg and one from Lewis
  • The Bulldogs shot 50.8 percent to the Spartans 49.1 percent
  • Fresno's Haley Cavinder had a triple double 17 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists

New COVID Entry Policy:

  • All personnel with a SJSU Tower ID (students, staff and faculty) will only have to show Tower ID and ticket for entry
    • Tower ID holders are within the SJSU Covid protocols
  • Those without a Tower ID will be required to show proof of vaccination with their card, a photo on their phone or QR code
  • Fans that are not vaccinated will be required to show proof of a negative COVID test (Age 3 and up)
    • For Antigen tests, negative result of COVID test must be within 24 hours
    • For PCR tests, negative result of COVID test must be within 48 hours
  • The antigen test can include a take-home test, sold at Walgreens, CVS and other pharmacies

Mask Policy:

  • Fans are required to wear masks indoors at all times unless actively eating or drinking
