Ross Scores Season High at Colorado State

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – 
Cydni Lewis led San José State (3-10, 0-2 Mountain West) in a 90-64 loss to Colorado State (11-2, 2-1 Mountain West) inside Moby Arena on Sunday afternoon. Lewis had 24 points and eight rebounds in the Spartans' first Mountain West road game.
 
Deja Ross added a season-high 19 points and was 5-7 from downtown.

Due to COVID-19 related concerns within the San José State women's basketball program, the Spartans' originally scheduled conference opener at New Mexico on December 28 was postponed. Conference games against Fresno State (Jan 3) and Wyoming (Jan 6) were also postponed due to COVID-19 related concerns within the Bulldogs' and Cowgirls' programs.
 

  • Lewis scored a team-high 24 points, eight boards and two blocks
  • Ross had 19 points, shot 71.4% (5-7) from 3 and added seven rebounds
  • Ella Ogier added six points and three assists
  • The Spartans shot 60% (6-10) from 3-point range in the first half
  • SJSU tallied 11-22 (50%) from deep and shot 39% from the field
  • San José State was 7-8 from the free throw line

 

 
UP NEXT
San José State will face its next test when it travels to Fresno State on Saturday, January 15. Game time is 2:00 p.m. and will be available to watch live on the Mountain West Network.

The Spartans' next home game is Wednesday, January 19 at 6:00 p.m. and $1 hot dogs will be available at concessions. Tickets can be purchased here.

New COVID Entry Policy:

  • All personnel with a SJSU Tower ID (students, staff and faculty) will only have to show Tower ID and ticket for entry
    • Tower ID holders are within the SJSU Covid protocols
  • Those without a Tower ID will be required to show proof of vaccination with their card, a photo on their phone or QR code
  • Fans that are not vaccinated will be required to show proof of a negative COVID test (Age 3 and up)
    • For Antigen tests, negative result of COVID test must be within 24 hours
    • For PCR tests, negative result of COVID test must be within 48 hours
  • The antigen test can include a take-home test, sold at Walgreens, CVS and other pharmacies

Mask Policy:

  • Fans are required to wear masks indoors at all times unless actively eating or drinking
