SAN JOSE, Calif.—Blaire Fleming led the Spartans with nine kills, but the San José State volleyball team fell in straight sets to Santa Clara, 25-22, 25-16, 25-18, Sunday afternoon inside of Spartan Gym.
- Fleming added two digs and was one of four Spartans to record two blocks in the match.
- Alyssa Bjork led the team in blocking with three, one solo and two assists.
- Nayela Ti’a added six kills and had a team-best six digs.
- Four Spartans had five digs in the match – Letizia Cammillucci, Brooke Slusser, Alessia Buffagni and Teya Nguyen.
- The Spartans did outblock the Broncos, 7-6.
UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to the state capital for matches Friday and Saturday in the Hornet Invitational. The team faces Portland and Sacramento State on Friday and Cal State Fullerton on Saturday morning.
