SAN JOSE, Calif.— Kielle Leggo scored twice and Elaina Davey had three saves, two assists and a steal to lead seventh-seeded San José State in the team's 16-5 loss to second-seed Stanford on Friday in the first match of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship at the SRAC.
- Lior Ben David scored on a 6-on-5 with 5:37 left on the clock in the second quarter for the team's first goal of the match.
- Leggo converted a penalty for the Spartans' second goal on the day at the 2:37-mark in the second quarter. The Spartans tied the Cardinal in scoring in the second quarter 2-2.
- Clarissa Wandinger also scored on a 6-on-5 with 4:25 left in the fourth quarter off a great pass from Davey in goal.
- Lucy Miszewski scored a natural goal at the 3:36-mark in the fourth quarter.
- Leggo scored her second goal of the match with 2:40 to go in the fourth for the Spartans' fifth goal of the game.
- Hannah Henry recorded four saves for SJSU.
- Davey, who played the whole second half for SJSU, saved a penalty attempt from Stanford's Jenna Flynn.
- Davey also recorded two assists in the fourth quarter on Wandinger and Miszewski's goals.
