ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—Dalton Bowling went 2-for-4 with a solo home run to lead the San José State baseball team (13-11, 6-4 Mountain West) in a 16-8 loss to New Mexico (16-11, 6-6 Mountain West) on Thursday night at Santa Ana Star Field.
- The home run was Bowling's team-leading fifth of the season. The Spartans' third baseman ranks fifth in the Mountain West Conference in home runs.
- Hunter Dorraugh reached base safely in three at-bats as he hit 2-for-3 and was also hit by a pitch.
- Charles McAdoo went 2-for-4 and extended his hit streak to 13 games.
- Jeriah Lewis went 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
- Right-handed pitcher Nathan Hansen tossed a scoreless 1.1 innings, giving up only two runs while striking out three.
- Left-handed pitcher Trevor Ernt pitched a scoreless frame in his first appearance of the season, not allowing any hits in the eighth inning.
