SAN JOSE, Calif.—Haylee Nelson and Jaida Ward extended their match to three sets and went point-for-point with their opposition before falling in three sets Sunday as the San José State beach team fell to Arizona, 5-0, at Spartan Beach.
Nelson and Ward were the only Spartan pair to extend their match to three sets Sunday. They closed the third set to 14-13 before the Wildcats got the final point for the win.
The Spartans will compete next weekend at the WCC Tournament in Santa Cruz, Calif.
