SAN JOSE, Calif.—
Left-handed pitcher Micky Thompson tossed 6.0 innings, allowing only two earned runs on four hits while striking out six to lead the San José State baseball team (17-13, 10-4 Mountain West) in a 7-3 win over UNLV (14-19, 7-10 Mountain West) on Saturday afternoon at Excite Ballpark. Dalton Bowling led the Spartans offensively, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs.

  • The Spartans scored five runs on four hits in the eighth inning to come back from a 3-2 deficit.
  • Right-handed pitcher Nathan Hansen earned his second win of the season as he pitched 2.0 shutout innings of relief and did not allow a hit while recording one strikeout.
  • RHP Darren Jansen threw a scoreless ninth inning.
  • Robert Hamchuk went 2-for-5 with three RBIs.
  • Nathan Cadena and Jeriah Lewis each went 2-for-3 with a double.
  • Jack Colette went 2-for-3 with a walk and swiped his team-leading eighth stolen base of the season.
  • Thompson registered six strikeouts for the third time this year.
