SAN JOSE, Calif.– Emma Fantousis and Olaya Bances Iglesias controlled their singles and doubles matches to lead San José State (12-1, 3-0 MW) in a 4-0 win against Wyoming (3-12, 0-3 MW) on Friday afternoon.
- The Spartans remain undefeated at home with a record of 8-0 and an overall record of 12-1
- This remains the best start for San José State since the 2020-21 season where they started 14-0
- This was the first win for the Spartans over the Cowgirls since 2021
- Soledad Fayos Capilla and Fantousis quickly wrapped up their doubles match, 6-0
- Fayos Capilla and Fantousis remain undefeated in doubles matches in conference play
- Duru Durgun and Bances Iglesias earned the Spartans the doubles point after a tense match, 7-5
- This is the third time that Durgun and Bances Iglesias clinched the doubles point for the Spartans
- Carla Urchoeguia won in straight sets in her singles match, 6-2, 6-3
- Urchoeguia is now on a four-match win streak and is undefeated in conference play
- Bances Iglesias dominated in her singles match, 6-0, 6-3
- Fantousis commanded her singles match, 6-3, 6-2
- Cheuk Ying Shek and Carla Urchoeguia came up short in their doubles match 6-0
