AT SJSU: Completed his second season of cross country in fall 2013.

2013 Cross Country: Competedand scored in five races...season-best 23rd place finish at the USF Invitational 8K (8/31)...fastest 8K time of 25:37.4 came at the Bronco Invitational where he finished 121st...36th place with a time of 21:31.4 at the Fresno State Invitational four-mile run (9/14)...142nd place with a time of 27:29 at the Stanford Invitational 8K (9/28)...63rd place with a time of 29:58.71 at the Mountain West (MW) Championship (11/1).

2012 Cross Country: Competed in all six races for the Spartans including the WAC Championship...finished fifth overall and second on the team at the 8K Aztec Invitational (9/15) with a time of 29:54.6...SJSU[apos]s top finisher in 13th place at the Crystal Springs Invitational...fastest 8K time of the season (26:10.8) came at the Bronco Invitational (10/13)...67th place at the WAC Championship (10/27) with a time of 29:41.41.

WEST VALLEY COLLEGE: Specialized in the 1,500m, 5,000m and 10,000m races...competed in the 800m and 3,000m steeplechase events during the 2011...finished second in the 3,000m steeplechase (10:03.59) at the Coast Conference Championships and fifth in the 10,000m (33:55.11)...career-best 5,000m time of 15:51.83.

HIGH SCHOOL: Competed during four track and cross country seasons at Leigh High School in San Jose, Calif...10 career finishes inside the top-25 in cross country...personal bests include: 18:41 - 5K and three and 16:58 - 3 mile.

MATTHEW: A mechanical engineering major...aiming to have an engineering position with Teslaor NASAafter graduating from SJSU...enjoys running, mountain biking and reading in his free time...born on August 19, 1992 in San Jose, Calif.
