2018: Made her Spartan debut at South Florida...played in 14 matches and 38 sets...averaged 1.00 kills, 0.53 digs and 0.39 blocks per set…nine kills against Wyoming, five kills at South Florida and four versus Jacksonville, Northern Colorado, Pacific and South Dakota State...two assists and an ace against South Florida...10 digs and two blocks (one solo, one assist) against Jacksonville…four block assists versus South Dakota State and added two block assists at Northern Colorado, versus North Florida and at Colorado State.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Pitman High School in 2018…first team All-Central Coast Conference as a junior…led her team to three consecutive Sac-Joaquin Section Division I titles…played club ball for Rage Volleyball…team was runners-up at the 2014 Junior Nationals and the champions at the 2015 Junior Nationals…also a member of the track team…competed at the 2017 and 2017 state meet in the shot put…was the school’s first student-athlete to compete at the state championships in two different sports as he helped the 2014 volleyball team reach the CIF tournament.
PERSONAL: Majoring in liberal arts with a minor in child development…younger brother, Derek, is active in football, basketball and track…was honored at a Sacramento River Cats (AAA baseball) game after being named to the All-City Team of the Year in Turlock…Whitney Kay Barnes likes reading.
