FRESNO, Calif. – Katharina Graman won gold in the Women’s Long Jump, Emilia Sjostrand took silver in the same event and Deshawn Banks won two medals of his own, silver in Long Jump and bronze in High Jump while seven Spartans qualified for finals on Championship Saturday to lead San José State Track & Field on the second day of competition at the Credit Union 1 2025 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday.
Day two of the Mountain West Outdoor Championships was highlighted by Graman's gold medal and personal-best leap of 6.47m (21' 2¾”) in the women’s long jump, earning her the top spot on the podium and a place in the Spartan record books.
Graman’s mark not only claimed first place but also moved her to No. 2 all-time in the SJSU Outdoor Record Book and currently ranks as the 13th-best mark in the nation this season. She becomes the first Mountain West long jump champion not named Emilia Sjostrand since 2022.
