San Jose, Calif.—The San José State University women's golf program is well represented this weekend at the 2021 U.S. Senior Women's Open Championship at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, Conn. Five former Spartans will tee it up Thursday morning hoping to make the cut after the second round on Friday.
Included in the field of 120 players are current head coach Dana Dormann, Juli Inkster, Pat Hurst, Dina Ammaccapane and Amy Ellertson. Dormann qualified after winning the sectional at Orinda Country Club, Ammaccapane tied for first at Longbow Golf Club, and Ellertson finished second at her qualifier.
The championship is open to any professional or amateur golfer who is 50 years of age as of July 29, and has a Handicap Index not exceeding 7.4.
The par-72 course will play at 6,011 yards. The field will play 18 holes on July 29 and 30. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the 50 lowest scorers and anyone tying for 50th place for the final two rounds on July 31 and August 1.
The GOLF Channel will have live coverage of the championship on Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and August 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. PT.

Beginning her fourth season as the head coach at San José State where she was the 2019 Mountain West Coach of the Year.
Has qualified for all three U.S. Women's Senior Opens but this is her second time to play
2021 - Earned medalist honors by shooting 3-over 76 at Orinda Country Club to qualify for this year's U.S. Women's Senior Open
2019 – Won medalist honors at the Stanford Golf Course, shooting an even-par 71, to qualify. Was unable to play at the U.S. Women's Senior Open as San José State advanced to the NCAA Championships that same week at Blessing Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.
2018 – Earned medalist honors by shooting a three-under 68 on the par-71 Ocean Course at the Olympic Club to qualify for the U.S. Senior Women's Open. She was the only player under par at the qualifier.
