The Koret Athletic Training Center is located directly north of CEFCU Stadium and the Simpkins Stadium Center. Since its completion in November of 2001, San Jose State student-athletes have furthered their athletic development in the spacious 15,000 square-foot facility.
The facility is set up for comprehensive strength and conditioning training for all student-athletes utilizing the weight room equipment, field turf, grass fields , and sandpit.
The most recent update to the facility was in the spring of 2020. Large glass panel doors were installed, allowing the weight room to be opened up to the turf training area outside. With an average of 300 days of sunshine yearly in San Jose, the doors let the strength and conditioning staff better take advantage of the great weather in the South Bay.
The Koret Athletic Training Center also contains a 1,000-square foot rehabilitation and training room that services physical therapy and sports specific rehabilitation. The facility enables the sports medicine staff of athletic trainers, doctors, surgeons, specialists and physical therapists to provide the best possible care to help prevent and rehabilitate injuries.
The three athletic training rooms are located throughout the San Jose State University campus.
There is one in the Simpkins Stadium Center near CEFCU Stadium on South Campus, which services the football, men's and women's golf, and men's and women's cross country teams. The Simpkins Stadium Center training room was remodeled in 2020, with new equipment and training tables.
The SPX athletic training room, renovated in 2014, is located on main campus and services the men's and women's basketball teams, the volleyball team, the gymnastics team, the swimming and diving team, and the men's and women's water polo team.
The third training room is in the East Fieldhouse, located on South Campus across 10th street from the softball stadium. It services the men's and women's soccer teams, the baseball and softball teams and the women's tennis team.
Each training room is a fully-functional facility with treatment tables, taping stations, rehabilitation space and modalities.
