Spartans Move To 7-4 With Win At Idaho

San Jose State received a trio of rushing touchdowns from Patrick Perry and a 50-yard scoring toss from Adam Tafralis as they handled the Idaho Vandals, 28-13, at the Kibbie Dome, in Moscow, ID.

The Spartans improve to 7-4 overall and 4-3 in the WAC. Idaho finishes their season at 4-8 overall and 3-5 in the WAC.

Tafralis opened the scoring with just under one minute remaining in the first-quarter when he connected with John Broussard on a 50-yard touchdown strike down the middle of the field. The score was the fifth of the season for Broussard and his fourth scoring pass of 40 yards or more.

The second quarter scoring belonged to the Vandals. Tino Amancio knocked home a 28-yard field goal and Jayson Bird scored on a two-yard run to take a 10-7 lead entering halftime.

The second-half belonged to the Spartans and the energetic legs of Perry. The junior scored on a one-yard run with 10:25 remaining in the third-quarter to give the Spartans a lead they would not relinquish.

Perry added a four-yard run at the 10:16 mark of the fourth-quarter and then provided the capper with a one-yard run with 2:24 remaining. Perry finished the game with 64 yards on 15 carries.

Defensively the Spartans held Idaho to 254 yards of offense and recorded two interceptions.

Next up for the Spartans is their regular season finale at home against Fresno State University Saturday, December 2 at 1:00 pm in Spartan Stadium.
