AD Bleymaier On NCAA President's Advisory Council

June 20, 2013

San José State University's Gene Bleymaier is one of 10 Division I athletics directors to accept a position on NCAA President Mark Emmert's newly-formed advisory council.

The 10 athletics directors represent a geographic and competitive cross section of Division I athletics.

"My colleagues and I look forward to working with President Emmert on topics that specifically affect NCAA Division I athletics," says Bleymaier. "I am pleased to serve on this advisory council."

Bleymaier is in his second year as the Spartans' director of athletics. His length of service as a NCAA Division I director of athletics is unsurpassed by his colleagues on President Emmert's new advisory council. Overall, he is embarking on his 32nd year as an athletics director at the NCAA Division I level.
