Biletnikoff Award Watch List
Tallahassee, Fla. - San José State University's record-setting wide receiver Noel Grigsby is one of 75 players named to the 2013 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List.
The award recognizes the outstanding pass receiver in college football and is named after the Oakland Raiders Hall of Fame wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff. He played his college football and was an All-American at Florida State, home of the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation that sponsors the annual award.
Grigsby, a senior from Los Angeles, is on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List for the third year after earning first-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors in 2012. He enters the 2013 campaign as the Spartans career leader in receptions (227) and receiving yards (3,015) and ranks second among active Football Bowl Subdivision players in those categories as well.
With 82 catches last season he became the first San José State receiver in school history with 80 or more catches in back-to-back seasons. His 1,307 receiving yards (in 2012) mark the fourth time in program history a receiver has gone over 1,000 receiving yards in a season. Grigsby finished 2012 ranked 12th in the nation in receiving yards per game and 29th in receptions per contest.
One of four players from the Mountain West Conference named to the Watch List, Grigsby enters the 2013 season with a 34-game streak of at least one reception a game.
The 2013 Biletnikoff Award will be presented live on December 12, on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.
