Women's Golf 9th, Three Spartans In Top-30

Wolcott, Colo.-- Rachelle Reali shot her best round of the season on Wednesday, three Spartans finished in the top-30, and the San José State women's golf team finished ninth at the Golfweek Conference Challenge held at the Red Sky Golf Club.

San José State continued to show its improvement as a team, shooting their lowest round of the tournament with a 302 on Wednesday. For the week, the Spartans shot a 934 to finish in ninth place.

Reali was one of three Spartans to finish in the top-30 individually. She shot the team's low round of the day with a 74 on Wednesday. Reali made two birdies over her final six holes including the final hole to finish tied for 26th at 231.

My Leander had the best Spartan finish of the tournament as she tied for 22nd at 230. She shot a 76 in her final round that included two birdies and 10 pars.

Megan Osland shot her best round of the tournament on Wednesday with a 75 and finished tied for 28th at 232. She made three birdies on her round including her last hole of the tournament.

Alexandra Kristofersson shot a 77 to finish tied for 51st at 241. She made three birdies in her first seven holes of the day. Kim Cifuentes shot an 81 in the final round to finish tied for 68th at 249.

"We continued to play better today," said associate head coach Dana Dormann. "Rachelle had a good solid round for us. The freshmen got a lot of good experience on this course, and we are looking to take these improvements to our next tournament."

San José State next competes at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, October 7-9, at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash.
