Denver, Colo. - Emmanuel Espinosa, a sophomore goalkeeper from San Jose, Calif., was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week of September 23-29.
The Evergreen Valley High School product posted his first shutout of the season in a scoreless draw against Saint Mary's on Sunday night. Espinosa made a season-high seven saves, including one in each of the overtime periods, in recording the third clean sheet of his collegiate career.
This is the first time Espinosa has been honored with conference Player of the Week recognition.
