"Hanah was able to play her game tonight and was very composed on the floor. Our ball handling was very good with all three of our passers and that allowed Hanah to concentrate on her hitting."
The Spartans started the match strong by hitting .457 in the 25-19 win in the first set. The score was tied six times, but San Jose State never gave up the lead.
In the second set, San Jose State jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but the Hornets responded by tying the set at 6-6 before jumping out to a 13-8 lead. The two teams battled back and forth before two consecutive O'Reilly kills gave the Spartans the 29-27 win.
"After last weekend, we worked on making comebacks in practice this week. We were focused on what we needed to do and had a very good mental game," said Crespo.
San Jose State dominated the third set, only allowing the Hornets to tie the score once at 1-1 before making a 6-0 run and taking control of the set to win 25-17.
