Sacramento, Calif.-Hanah Blume recorded two double-doubles on Saturday as the San Jose State volleyball fell to Cal Poly, 3-1, and Central Connecticut, 3-0, at the Sacramento State Invitational.
Against the Mustangs, Blume recorded a season-best 18 kills as she hit .341 (18-4-41) and added 10 digs. Mary Alice O'Reilly hit a team-best .444 with 14 kills on 27 attempts and just two errors. She led the team with six block assists.
O'Reilly led the team in kills and blocks against Central Connecticut with 13 kills and three block assists. Blume added 10 kills and 16 digs in the match. Tyanna Roy recorded 11 kills and a team-best four aces.
"We need to take care of the little things and be mentally focused in our matches," said Spartan head coach Oscar Crespo. "We lost our focus at times and had to work hard to get back into the matches. We are starting to get better and play smarter. I know we will be excited to be playing at home on Wednesday.
San Jose State opens the home portion of the schedule on Wednesday, September 11, with a non-conference match against Eastern Washington at 7 p.m. The Spartans now play their home matches at The Event Center, located on the corner of 7th and San Carlos. Parking is available in the Seventh Street Garage.
