The 2013-14 San José State women's golf team opens the season at the Colonel Bill Wollenberg's Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Monday and Tuesday, September 9-10, at the Ptarmigan Golf Course in Fort Collins, Colo.
Competing for the Spartans will be Megan Osland, Alexandra Kristofersson, Kathleen Rojas, Rachelle Reali and My Leander.
"This is a good starting tournament for us," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "Every year is a situation, especially since we will be playing with two freshmen. We just need to keep developing our game and team bond during this tournament."
Teams participating include California, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Colorado, UC Davis, UNLV, UTEP, Wyoming and the Spartans.
Teams begin play with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start each day. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. San José State plays with New Mexico and Illinois, starting on holes 10, 11, 12 and 13, Monday. Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com, with a link provided on the Spartan website.
