Women's Soccer Falls To Utah State, 2-0.

San Jose, Calif. - The Utah State Aggies scored two second half goals and bested the San Jose State University women's soccer team, 2-0, in a Mountain West match on Sunday, October 13.

The Spartans (2-12-0, 1-5 MW) controlled the majority of play during the first half, out-shooting Utah State, 4-2.

But the Aggies (7-5-2, 3-2 MW) returned from halftime with renewed vigor, and got the match's first goal at the 55-minute mark. Lauren Roundy sent the ball from the near sideline to Kylie Dibb, who scored her third goal of the season from Zoe Makrigiannis's farside post.

Utah State doubled its lead in the 82nd minute. Jennifer Flynn beat a Spartan defender and sliced a low ball past Makrigiannis from five yards out for the final 2-0 score.

San Jose State out-shot Utah State, 8-7, with Alexis Venegas taking a team-high three shots. Kareli Rodriguez and Lupita Estrada each recorded a pair of shots.

In her first collegiate match, redshirt freshman Natalie Stoven made two saves for the Aggies' six shutout of the season. Makrigiannis made three saves.

San Jose State is on the road next weekend, traveling to Air Force on Friday, October 18 at 6:00 p.m. (MDT) and Wyoming on Sunday, October 20 at 12:00 p.m. (MDT).
