Men's Soccer Beaten In The 86th Minute At CSU Bakersfield

Bakersfield, Calif. - The San José State men's soccer team played the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners to a 0-0 draw for 85 minutes on Friday night, then at the 85:06 mark, CSUB got a goals and went on to a 1-0 win in a Western Athletic Conference game.

The Spartans (1-9-2, 1-3-0 WAC), were outshot 11-to-4 in the first half, but put all those attempts on frame. Rory Knibbs led the side with two attempts. Colton Portela and Sam Croucher were the other two Spartans who took shots in the half.

Coming out in the second half, CSU Bakersfield (4-6-2, 2-1-1 WAC) saw the Spartans take three shots in the first 40 minutes to their zero. When the 'Runners did attempt their first shot, it found the back of the net.

In the 86th minute Giovanni Godoy took a pass from Jonathan Colunga and scored from 10 yards out.

Just over 40 seconds later, San José State might have had its best and last opportunity of the night. An Andy Kelly header hit the crossbar.
