De Guzman Tied For 6th, Spartans 13th At Stanford Intercollegiate

Round Two Results

Stanford, Calif. - Regan De Guzman shot her second consecutive under-par round to lead the San José State women's golf team in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Condoleezza Rice. The Spartans are 13th in the team standings at 591.

For the second consecutive day, De Guzman made four birdies on her round as she shot one-under 70 on Saturday. Starting on #10, she made birdies on two of her first three holes and three over nine holes to be one under at the turn. De Guzman had two bogeys and a birdie on her final hole of the day to finish at 70. She ended the day finished tied for sixth at three-under par, six shots behind leader Sophia Popov from Southern California.

Megan Osland shot a 75 on Saturday, making one birdie and 13 pars on her round. Osland and My Leander, who shot a 78, are tied for 60th at 151. Rachelle Reali shot a 76 in the second round and is tied for 67th at 152. Alexandra Kristofersson shot a 76 and is tied for 76th at 154.

"We need to capitalize better on our birdie opportunities," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "Tomorrow is very important for us. We need to close out the semester with a strong round."
