David Fales - Mountain West Offensive Player Of The Week

Oct. 28, 2013

Colorado Springs, Colo.-----For the second time in a three-week span, San Jose State University quarterback David Fales is the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Fales completed 27-of-37 passes without an interception for 482 yards and five touchdowns in the Spartans' 51-44 come-from-behind victory over the University of Wyoming in a Mountain West Conference game.

The 6-foot-3 senior from Salinas, Calif., engineered a second-half comeback after Wyoming took a 30-14 lead early in the third quarter. Fales would lead San Jose State to a season-high 22-point third quarter that put the Spartans ahead for the first time, 36-30.

The two teams then traded touchdowns until Fales directed the game-winning drive of 65 yards on 12 plays covering 5:09 in the fourth quarter. His 1-yard quarterback dive over the left side of the offensive line was the first time he scored a touchdown in a San Jose State uniform.

He set a conference record for most consecutive 300-plus passing yardage games and tied another Mountain West mark for back-to-back contests throwing for at least 400 passing yards.

For October, Fales was as good as any quarterback in the country throwing for 1,231 yards and 11 touchdowns during the Spartans' three-game winning streak. The Spartan signal caller was named the Offensive Player of the Week following the Colorado State win on October 12.

Outside linebacker Ejiro Ederaine and tight end Marcel Jensen of Fresno State were named the Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.
