Cross Country Season Headed Down The Stretch; SF State Invite Up Next

The San José State men's and women's cross country season is heading down the stretch with two races remaining in the 2013 regular season. Next up for the Spartans is the San Francisco State Invitational on Friday, October 11 at 4:15 p.m. in Golden Gate Park.

The field for the women's 6K run includes: Academy of Art, Cal State East Bay, CSU Monterey Bay, Cal State Stanislaus, Holy Names, Humboldt State, Notre Dame de Namur, Pacific and host San Francisco State.

Lourdes Amante, Mallory Davenport, Melanie Fujiwara, Breanna Garcia, Jenay Jauregui, Karina Nunes, Diana Orozco, Agnes Portal, Joanna Reyes, and Jessica Stacey will be running in the San José State lineup.

For the men's 8K, Imran Zaman will race in a Spartan uniform while teammate Mueen Ghoury will be competing as an unattached entry in the field of 141 individuals. There will be no team score for SJSU in the men's event.

Following the San Francisco State Invitational, the Spartans will compete in the Santa Clara Invitational on October 19 before heading to the Mountain West Championships in Colorado, Springs, Colo., on November 1.
