Logan, Utah - Sydney LaFollette hit a team-high .417, the best performance of her collegiate career, but the San José State University women's volleyball team was swept by Utah State, 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-19), in a Mountain West match on Thursday, November 14.

The loss ends San José State's three-match winning streak.

"Tonight, I thought that we did some good things offensively, such as our effectiveness on the right side and our short blocking," Head Coach Oscar Crespo said. "But we let opportunities get away from us and made errors that hurt our chances."

LaFollette had six kills and two block assists in the best hitting night as a Spartan.

Hanah Blume added a San José State-best eight kills. Cori O'Donoghue recorded 10 digs, while Michaela Leonard notched 34 of the Spartans' 35 assists on the night.

The Spartans hit .194 for the match, as compared to the Aggies' .420.

The loss drops San José State to an 8-17overall record and 5-9 in the Mountain West. Utah State improves to 16-9 overall and 9-5 in the Mountain West.

"I'm confident that the team will be able to shake this off for Boise State on Saturday," Crespo said. "They're a tough team and Boise is a hard place to play but there are some positives to take away from this match."

The Spartans travel to Boise State on Saturday, November 16, for a 6:00 p.m. (MT) match.
