Final Stats

Davis, Calif. - Ta'Rea Cunnigan scored 10 points and moved past Natasha Johnson and into 10th place on San José State women's basketball's all-time scoring list in a game against the UC Davis Aggies on Tuesday night. The Spartans had five players in double figures but shot just 29 percent from the floor and lost 95-61.

Rebecca Woodberry led the Spartans (4-3) with 14 points. Along with Cunnigan, Classye James, Britta Hall and Jasmine Smith each had 10 points. Riana Byrd led all players with 12 rebounds.

The Spartans and Aggies (1-3) played a back and forth game for the first 10 minutes and after a Hall jumper, with 9:56 to go in the half, the score was 22-20 in favor of the Aggies.

But from there the Spartans went cold and for nearly six minutes failed to score. It wasn't until 4:09 to go before the break that they finally got back in the scoring column. A James layup broke the streak, but UC Davis had reeled off 14 points during the San José State drought, built a 36-22 lead and took a 49-30 advantage into the half.

Any chance of a Spartans comeback ended in the first four minutes of the second half. UC Davis reeled off 17-straight points, took a 36-point lead, and never looked back. The led by as many as 42, before taking the 34-point win.

San Jose State struggled from the field for the second straight game shooting 17 percent from beyond the arc and just 62 percent from the line.

Four Aggies scored in double figures led by 17 from Kelsey Harris. Alyson Doherty had 13 points and 10 rebounds

San Jose State (4-3) has a week off before retuning to the court to face ninth-ranked Baylor in Waco, Texas.
