The Spartans went into halftime with a 42-26 advantage over the Gladiators. San Jose State led by as many as 29 points four times in the second half.

San Jose State was the third NCAA Division I opponent for the Gladiators this season. Pacifica, a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, previously lost to UC Irvine of the Big West Conference and the University of San Diego of the West Coast Conference.

Pacifica's Jonathan Earl was the game's leading scorer with 26 points. The loss for the Gladiators (3-14) was their fifth in a row.
