LAS VEGAS - Driven by fan voting, San Jose State University quarterback David Falesis the SEVEN Magazine Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Mountain West Player of the Week for games ending Saturday, November 30.
Fales earns his first SEVEN Magazine Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Mountain West Player of the Week honor after going 37-of-45 for a Mountain West record 547 yards and six touchdowns in San José State's 62-52 win over Fresno State. He also had one rushing score and accounted for seven of the eight Spartan TDs. He finished with 33 rushing yards giving him 580 yards of total offense, which is the second-highest total in MW history. The 547 yards are the second-most by an FBS quarterback this season.
University of Oregon wide receiver Josh Huff is the The Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl continues its third season of conducting weekly Facebook player-of-the-week polls, driven by fan votes, recognizing exemplary on-field play within the two Bowl affiliated conferences, the Pac-12 and Mountain West.
Each week, players from both the Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences were selected for nomination and then posted for voting. College football fans cast their votes starting on Monday each week for Player of the Week at www.facebook.com/lvbowl.
For the Spartans' signal caller, the latest honor adds to a lengthy list of recognition for an exceptional performance in San Jose State's first win over a nationally-ranked opponent since the 2000 season. Other honors include:
