College Station, Texas --- The #68 San José State University women's team fell to DePaul in the first round of the ITA Kickoff Tournament. The ITA Kickoff features 64 of the top teams in the nation and this is San José State's first appearance in the ITA Kickoff
The only win for the Spartans (2-2) came from freshman Marie Klocker in the #2 single position, after defeating #52 Ana Vladutu in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. This is the second straight singles match win for Klocker.
The Spartans conclude the ITA Kickoff on Sunday, January 26 as they take on the of the Mississippi State/ Texas A&M match. The consolation match begins at 10:00 am (CT) at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on Texas A&M's campus.
