Fresno, Calif.--Fresno State's top-three scorers combined for 54 points Saturday as San José State shot 30.4 percent from the field as the Spartan men's basketball team lost 82-56 at the Save Mart Center in a Mountain West game.

Rashad Muhammad led all Spartan scorers with 13 points but was just 3-of-11 from the field, all three makes from three-point range. His 62 three-pointers made this season are the eighth-highest total for a season in school history. He needs just one more for the seventh in school history.

Bulldog Cezar Guerrero tied his career-high as he led all scorers with 23 points including 5-for-9 from three-point range. Marvelle Harris scored 16 points including 4-for-4 from beyond the arc, and Tyler Johnson added 15 points and grabbed a team-best 10 points.

Fresno State started the game quickly as the team jumped out to a 21-6 lead in the first six minutes of the game. The Spartans got as close as 10 points at 26-16 on a Brandon Mitchell layup with 11:13 left in the first half.

The Spartans trailed at halftime 50-29 after Muhammad banked in a three-pointer at the buzzer. The team shot just 32.1 percent from the field (9-of-28) and just 5-for-14 from three-point range. The Bulldogs were hot in the first half, shooting 55.9 percent from the field (19-for-34) and 56.3 percent from three-point range (9-16).

For the game, San José State shot 30.4 percent (29.6 percent in the second half) and 28.6 percent from three-point range (21.4 percent in second half). The positive for the Spartans came at the free throw line where the team was 87.5 percent (14-of-16).

Jaleel Williams was the only other Spartan in double figures with 10 points. Chris Cunningham led the team with seven rebounds and added nine points. D.J. Brown added eight points and three assists, while Isaac Thornton had eight points and five rebounds.

San José State returns home next week for two home games - Wednesday against Air Force at 7 p.m. and Saturday against Wyoming at 2 p.m. Both games will be played at The Event Center.
