David Fales & Bene Benwikere Heading To 2014 NFL Combine

San José State University quarterback David Fales and cornerback Bené Benwikereare taking the next step in their path to a professional football career when they participate in the 2014 National Football League (NFL) Scouting Combine, February 22-25 in Indianapolis.

Fales and Benwikere stayed busy in January with personal workouts and all-star game participation. Fales, the first Spartan quarterback to play in any Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., threw a touchdown pass in the North team's win. Two days later in Irving, Texas, the San Jose State starter the last two seasons won the Quicken Loans All-Star Football Challenge quarterback accuracy and was on the winning side in the team competition challenge.

Benwikere played in the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Fla. He is one of 59 defensive backs headed to Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium.

Fales is one of 19 quarterbacks participating. A total of fifty-nine defensive backs accepted invitations to participate. Adam Tafralis in 2008 and Scott Rislov in 2004 are the two most recent San Jose State quarterbacks to participate in NFL Combine activities.

More than 300 of the top college players eligible for the 2014 NFL Draft will be in Indianapolis for the four days of on and off the field evaluations by the league's 32 teams.

The NFL Network will have live coverage starting Saturday, February 22.

February 22 - Tight ends, offensive linemen, special teams player

February 23 - Quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers

February 24 - Defensive linemen, linebackers

February 25 - Defensive backs
