Kapalua, Maui--Spartan women's golfer Kathleen Rojas shot a team-best 75 in the second round and is tied for 11th after two rounds of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, played at The Bay Course in Kapalua, Maui. San Jose State ended the day in fifth place at 603.

Rojas made three birdies on her round Tuesday and was even par through her first nine holes. She was three-over par on her final nine holes and has a two-day total of 148. Rojas is tied for 11th place with Meghan Shain of Santa Clara and Natalie Vivaldi of Colorado.

Megan Osland remains in the top-20 individually after shooting a 79 in the second round. She is tied for 14th at 150 with five other golfers. Osland did not make a birdie in the second round after making an eagle and a birdie on Monday.

Rachelle Reali shot a 76 and is tied for 27th at 152. She made 14 pars during the second round including eight consecutive on holes 5-12. Regan De Guzman shot a 77 and is now tied for 32nd at 153. My Leander rounded out the Spartan team scoring with an 82 and is tied for 56th at 158.

San Jose State shot a 307 in the second round and made just five birdies on the round. The team is just one shot behind fourth-place Santa Clara and nine shots behind UC Davis in third.

"Today was another round where our short game let us down," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "We did not make our putts early in the round and struggled to maintain our score down the stretch. We were +4 on the par 5s, and not making putts on those holes makes the course harder to play. We have to do better tomorrow on those holes.

"Kathleen fought hard today and made putts for our team. She made three of the five birdies for our team."

Four Spartans are competing as individuals at the tournament. Alexandra Kristofersson is tied for 20th at 151 after shooting a 76. Stephanie Gibri is tied for 73rd at 163 after recording an 80 in round two. Kim Cifuentes is tied for 84th at 169, while Ann Sabater is 88th at 173.

Final round action begins Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. HST/10:45 a.m. PDT with a shotgun start. Live scoring can be found at www.golfstat.com.
