San Jose, Calif. - First-year head coach Simon Tobin has announced a five-game 2014 Spring schedule for the San José State men's soccer team. The side will play four games on Spartan Soccer Field and one on the road.
San José State opens with three home matches beginning with Notre Dame de Namur on March 16. California, who finished 2013 with a 14-5-2 record and reached the quarterfinals of the College Cup, visit on March 21. The opening three games conclude with San Francisco on April 12.
On April 18, the Spartans make their lone road trip of the spring, traveling to UC Santa Barbara. The Gauchos reached the first round the NCAA Tournament in 2013 and posted a 12-6-3 overall record. The fifth and final match is April 26 against Chico State on Spartan Soccer Field. The Wildcats, who played in the Division II West Regional Semifinal in 2013, finished with a 14-4-3 record last year.
