Featuring 11 intercollegiate athletics teams, the recently crowned national champion cheerleading squad and Sammy the Spartan, the annual San José State University Athletics Field Day for youngsters from ages 5 through 12 is scheduled for Saturday, April 5 in Spartan Stadium.
The annual Field Day starts at 10:00 a.m., combines Spartan student-athletes with boys and girls and introduces youngsters to the basics of sports participation and concludes at noon.
Boys and girls can get instruction in and learn about football, basketball, soccer, cross country and track and field, swimming and diving, water polo, golf and cheerleading activities from San José State student-athletes.
There is no charge to attend the event and no pre-registration is required. Simply show up at Spartan Stadium on April 5, at 10:00 a.m.
Parking is available in the Park & Ride Lot located on 7th Street and in the East field on 10th Street next to Spartan Stadium.
Youngsters should wear appropriate athletic attire to participate comfortably.
All Field Day participants will receive a free ticket to attend the San José State-Nevada baseball game at Municipal Stadium that same day. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
