Santa Cruz, Calif. - Cody Blick fired a one-over par 71 on Sunday, a 54-hole total of 208 (-2) and finished the 68th Transamerica/WFG Western Intercollegiate in a tie for ninth place. It is the sixth time in nine tournaments this year that Blick has finished in the top-10. The Spartans came in 12th with a 1098.
Starting on the 13th, Blick bogeyed his first hole but strung together nine pars before a bogey four on the fifth, his 11th hole of the round. He got a stroke back on the uphill par five ninth and finished with three more pars for a one-over.
"I got off to a rough start today," said Blick after the round. "I was hitting the ball pretty poorly, but got that figured out pretty quick. I just couldn't make a putt on the last nine holes. For whatever reason I wasn't getting the ball to the hole. It just wasn't my day I guess."
Justin Estrada also starting on the 13th hole of the 6615-yard, par 70 Pasatiempo Golf Course, made the turn at two over. He then birdied three on the back nine to finish one-under par 69 and in a tie for 33rd place with a 215 (+5) total.
Finding himself at four-over after his first three holes, Daniel Semmler finished his outward nine at that number. On his inward half he started with a bogey but finished with a flurry; birding three of his final five and signed for a 72 (+2). His 54-hole total of 220 (+10) tied for 50th.
Felix Möesmang was even par after six holes, but reach his 17th hole at 10-over par. On his 18th, the 527-yard par 5, 13th, he found a fairway bunker off the tee, hit his second over the green and then chipped in from 35 feet for an eagle three. He finished the day at eight-over par (78) and the tournament at 229 (+19) and in 85th place.
Playing as an individual, Taylor Bromley, shot an 82 (+12) and was 33-over for the tournament. He finished in 90th place at 243.
Landon Polterock shot an 84 (+14) and was 37-over for the tournament. He finished in 91st place at 247.
