Louisville, Ky. - San Jose State's Jessie Hufstetler earned Third Team National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-Pacific Region accolades, the organization announced today.
Hufstetler rewrote the San Jose State softball record book in her sophomore season. She finished 2014 with the top batting average in the Mountain West (.438), a single-season program record. She also posted new single-season bests for on base percentage (.547), slugging percentage (.656) and intentional walks (3).
The all-region teams were voted on by NFCA member coaches from each of the 10 regions. Hufstetler is now one of 392 student-athletes eligible for selection to one of three 2014 NFCA Division I All-American teams.
She is the 18th Spartan in the program's 27-year history to earn NFCA Division I All-Pacific Region honors.
The Atascasdero, Calif., native is one of 15 Mountain West softball players to capture the honor. She was honored by the conference earlier this week as a Second Team All-Mountain West pick.
