While most students are relaxing over the summer, several of the Spartans men's soccer players are hard at work honing their games in anticipation of the 2014 season under new head coach Simon Tobin.
Rory Knibbs, the leading scorer for San José State in his freshman season of 2013, hasn't missed a beat with his summer team, the Midland/Odessa Shockers FC of the Premier Development League (PDL). He leads the side with five goals and has assisted on two others.

Also playing in the PDL, for Midland/Odessa, is striker Ben Cowdrill and Jonathan Colunga, a transfer from CSU Bakersfield who fans will get to see this year, is playing for the Fresno Fuego.
