Cody Blick’s two-under par 68 on the 7,272-yard, par 70 on Flagstaff, Arizona’s Pine Canyon Golf Course places him in a six-way tie for 10th place after the opening round of the 48th Pacific Coast Amateur.
Starting on the 10th, Blick, a junior to be from Danville, Calif., birdied the 15 and 17, his sixth and eight holes of the day to make the turn at two-under. He moved to three-under par after a birdie on the 520-yard par 5 fourth. A bogey on the seventh hole, the only blemish on his round got him to the clubhouse with a 68. He sits six shots out of the lead after Andrew McCain fired a competitive course-record 62 on Tuesday.
The Tournament wraps up on Wednesday with Blick teeing off on the 10th hole with McCain and Alberto Sanchez. The threesome will get going at 9:10 a.m.
