Spartans Heading To Bay Area College Football Media Day

July 29, 2014

San José State University football head coach Ron Caragher, wide receiver Jabari Carr and center David Peterson will represent the Spartans at the annual Bay Area College Football Media Day, Wednesday, July 30. This year's event presented by the San Francisco Bowl Association takes place at the new Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

San José State, Stanford and Cal and the San Francisco Bowl will be discussing their outlooks on the 2014 season. For the Spartans, the season opens on Thursday, August 28, with the University of North Dakota in a 7:00 p.m. home game in Spartan Stadium.

Coach Caragher will kick off the Bay Area College Football Media Day festivities as a guest on the KNBR Morning Show hosted by Brian Murphy and Paul McCaffrey. The San José State head coach is scheduled to be on live at 6:38 a.m.

Carr and Peterson are two of 18 seniors on the 2014 team. Carr has 125 career pass receptions in his first three seasons. Peterson is a candidate for the Rimington Trophy recognizing the best center in college football. He moved into the starting lineup in the third game of 2013 and helped the offense tie or set six single-season school records on offense. Both graduated last spring and are beginning their master's degree programs this fall.
