San Jose State Football Ready For Practice To Begin

Santa Clara, Calif.----- San José State University head coach Ron Caragher, wide receiver Jabari Carr and center David Petersonwrapped up the pre-training camp hype representing the Spartans at the annual Bay Area College Football Media Day. The 2014 event with Stanford and Cal was presented by the San Francisco Bowl Game Association and hosted by the San Francisco 49ers at the new Levi's Stadium.

Paraag Marathe, president of the 49ers; San Francisco Bowl executive director Gary Cavalli; and Pacific-12 Conference associate commissioner Jamie Zavinovich extolled the virtues of the joining forces to strengthen college football in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Caragher, Cal's Sonny Dykes and Stanford's David Shaw provided an overview of their team heading into training camp before heading into one-on-one interview opportunities with players and the head coach for each program.

San José State's first practice is Friday, August 1, 3:15 p.m. Coach Caragher has 17 returning starters and 44 letterwinners from the 2013 team.
