San Jose State University was one of eight sites nationally and the only Northern California location to host second week action in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) annual Summer Circuit.

Women and men's singles and doubles matches occurred Saturday, July 5, through Monday, July 7, at the Spartan Tennis Complex, located at 12th and Humboldt Streets.

Luke Bohuslav of Loyola Marymount and Sarai Monarrez from Monterrey, Mexico, captured the singles championships in the men's and women's divisions, respectively.

The team of Jonathan Kim and Spencer Simonides from Pomona Pitzer captured the men's doubles title. Coru Sidell of Carnegie Mellon teamed with Villanova's Paulina Bajet for the women's doubles championship.

The ITA Summer Circuit focuses on college players and incoming freshmen an opportunity to play in competitive tournaments prior to the start of a new season.

Now in its 21st year, the ITA Summer Circuit presented by the United States Tennis Association provides organized competition to more than 1,000 players with an ITA membership. Overall, there are nine regional circuits hosting 36 tournaments nationwide during the month of July leading up to the ITA/USTA National Summer Championships for men and women, August 9 through 12 at Indiana University.
