Interviews with Evan Sarver & Nate Falo
San Jose State University offensive tackle Evan Sarver described the first day of wearing full pads at practice as "thud" speed. Defensive tackle Nate Falotook the Spartans' fifth day of preseason practice a step further describing it was "emptying the tank."
After a season as a key reserve in the offensive line, Sarver entered preseason camp as the number-one right tackle. Falo had a breakthrough season in 2013 as the Spartans' most reliable nose guard in the old 3-4 defensive alignment. An art major, Falo sculpted himself through a disciplined diet and an effective strength and conditioning program into an explosive 275-pound threat at the line of scrimmage.
