Mountain West Cross Contry Weekly Award Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Following his strong showing at the September 27 Stanford Invitational, San José State University freshman Josue Gonzalez was named the Mountain West Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
The Arcadia, Calif. native crossed the finish line at the Stanford Golf Course in 24:19, the top 8k-time in the Mountain West this season, placing 20th out of 361. The top-20 finish was the lowest place finish by a Spartan at the Stanford Invitational in many years and the third consecutive top-20 finish for the freshman in as many races.
The Spartans will have a week off before competing in the San Francisco State Invitational on Friday, October 10.
