San Jose, Calif. - San José State striker Rory Knibbs earned Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors and was named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week for his play in games on Friday and Sunday last week.
Knibbs, a sophomore forward from London, England, lead the Spartans to their first unbeaten weekend of road conference play in two years.
In a 5-1 win on Friday at Air Force, he scored twice in a four-goal first half for the Spartans. Then on Sunday, he scored his third goal in two games, the equalizer to earn San José State a 1-1 draw at Missouri-Kansas City.
His three goals in WAC play are tied for the conference lead.
This is the first time Knibbs has been honored as Player of the Week by the WAC and the first time he has been recognized by College Soccer News on its National Team of the Week.
